I had to get rid of these products I wasn't using a lot of them and then contained wheat in them. If your not suppose to eat wheat or have a gluten intolerance I read that it can cause you do have dry, and itchy scalp. It can also cause your hair to fall out. If you're recovering from a long-term addiction to shampoo, your scalp will probably be going through an adjustment period. Through out the day I realized that my black sweater was no longer black. The sweater appeared to have a white layer of flakey snow on my shoulders. As you can imagine I was very upset and needed to find a remedy immediately. I first starting using dandruff shampoo, but all dandruff shampoos did not work. After suffering with embarrassment for a year with no cure, I did some research and here is what I found: At the onset, scalp psoriasis often is confused with seborrheic dermatitis (aka dandruff). "Dandruff tends to itch more, and it has a greasy-appearing yellow scale; in contrast, psoriasis-whether it's on your scalp or any other body part -- tends to have a thick, silvery scale." Needed to find a way to keep my hair and the kinky twists style clean, soft and conditioned. I'll show a few clips of video on how to do this. Shampooing and using heavy creams/oils is not going to work for me while using this protective style. Dandruff is actually caused by a yeast. There are a couple things that can lead to that. One of them is infrequent hair washing. A lot of people think that actually if you wash your hair frequently you're going to get dry itchy scalp. Actually that's not what happens; it's the opposite. When the oils build up on your scalp that can cause the yeast to start growing there and cause the dandruff. Easy to take care of, good hygiene, you can use whatever shampoo you like to use and just clean your hair regularly and clean your scalp with that. If you do happen to get itchy, flaky scalp, any of the dandruff shampoos that are over the counter are usually really good. Selsun Blue works really well, so it's easy to treat and not too expensive. Lean your head over a sink and carefully pour the mixture over your entire scalp. Wrap your head in a towel for 15 minutes. Unwrap head, comb hair and then wash hair as usual.
